Leyden Solutions is proud to be a certified participant in the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 8(a) Business Development Program.

The 8(a) Business Development Program is a robust, nine-year program created by the Small Business Administration (SBA) to help eligible small disadvantaged businesses compete in the federal marketplace. The program is designed to level the playing field for socially and economically disadvantaged entrepreneurs by providing access to federal contracting opportunities and tailored business support. 

Participation in the 8(a) program demonstrates Leyden Solutions’ commitment to high standards of excellence, compliance, and continuous development. The certification process is rigorous—requiring documentation of ownership, control, and management by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, as well as evidence of good character and demonstrated potential for business success. Leyden Solutions successfully completed this comprehensive vetting process and continues to maintain its certification through annual reviews and ongoing business growth.

Benefits for Contracting Officers and Partners

The federal government has an annual goal of awarding at least 5% of all federal contracting dollars to small businesses. The 8(a) program enables government agencies to:

• Award sole-source contracts to eligible 8(a) firms for projects up to $4.5 million for goods and services, and up to $7 million for manufacturing.

• Set aside competitions exclusively for 8(a) companies, increasing opportunities for small businesses.

• Streamline the procurement process, reducing time and administrative burden for both agencies and contractors.
